Butterfly for the Children

Hi everyone -- Here's my butterfly for the children of the Holocaust. I hope those of you participating will let us know too so we can check them all out.

I'm happy with the way it turned out, but as many times, I feel it is still not quite finished. Below is a picture of the Halloween banner I made recently with cute vintage images from here. You should check them out, they have many, many free beautiful images.

I just love the eery surprise I got after shooting these photos. The minute "glitter beads" gives it a look of lights shining in the spots I glue those beads. I'm not even sure where I even got them and what those little balls are called, but its not your typical glitter. Remember to click all pictures to enlarge.

Have a great rest of your weekend,

Butterflies for Children -- A Worthy Challenge

Hello creative friends -- The Holocaust Museum Houston is planning this neat exhibition.
"In an effort to remember them, Holocaust Museum Houston is collecting 1.5 million handmade butterflies. The butterflies will eventually comprise a breath-taking exhibition, currently scheduled for Spring 2012, for all to remember.

As of Summer 2008, we have already collected an estimated 400,000 butterflies."

I am planning on sending a butterfly and I thought perhaps some of you would like to also. Check their site for more details. http://www.hmh.org/minisite/butterfly/index.html
