Miss Mary Challenge -- Natural Beauty

As part of being a preferred blogger for CSN Stores, I am doing a product review in the next few weeks.  I'll be reviewing an office chair which I'm looking forward to trying out.  CSN has become quite known in blogland, so its no surprise that they has over 200 website stores offering just about everything you need.  But did you know they even have headboards as part of their arsenal of products?

Well, stay tuned for my review and see how their office chairs are, perhaps you need one too.

Mary Green of Green Paper is hosting the Miss Mary Challenge for which she provided 3 delightful images to be used in the creations.  So, I decided to join in and I'm offering this as my entry.

Tin bucket which I painted pink first and collaged all around. Front side.

Back side.  I added a rub on border at top and a piece of lace upcycled from a wedding gown.

Here's one of the other images given for the challenge with a rub on I used with a memories quote, memory is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, and the things you never want to lose.

Another rub on with C'est La Vie and a paper rose

Glitter for the dress and metal bling for the waist.  The metal butterfly is decorating the stamp which I cut in 2, another of the images given by Mary.  Both metal beads are from an upcycled bracelet.

Pink rhinestones, more upcycled bracelet beads for the handle applied with thin wire

Lots of pics, thanks for indulging me.  Now, go to Mary's blog, Green Paper and check all of the entries so far.  I've seen some exceptional pieces.  There's a prize.   Wish me luck!

Have a wonderful day,

I'm a follower of the Prima Marketing blog and I get beautiful eye candy each time. Many of their creations are truly beautiful and so inspiring. They're currently running a monthly challenge of sorts and a giveaway. I don't know about you, but I can't pass it up. To read about it and enter the giveaway, click the picture above or here.

Good luck,

Anniversary Frame and a Dozen Darlings

I'm still without my beloved PC, so it hasn't been easy to download photos. I'm quickly doing this on my daughter's PC which is not the ideal, but here goes.

This is an anniversary frame I made for a friend who needed an anniversary gift for a friend. I used a yard sale frame which I brushed with some white gesso on the edges to tone down the gold. I then made a ribbon bow to which I attached some tiny pearl trim, a silk Peony and bling from an earring. A true repurpose, recycle, upcycle project.
I'm hoping its well received.

This is a quick layout from a book page. I used a flower cutout from wallpaper which I gessoed a bit. At the top, an amazing handmade paper I got from a swap. See how it was glued in a square pattern (I know there's a better word to describe it, but it escapes me right now) leaving open squares. I love its color too. I used a smaller piece that was coming apart after I cut it at the bottom of the flower too. The sweet picture of the 12 children is from a vintage photo I picked up at an antique store. Pieces of pink vellum cut with wavy scissors. I decorated the bottom of it with rick rack and lace and stamped throughout the background. Click on the picure for a larger image and to see details.

Dozen Darlings - By Nelly aka Bella Nella

For those in the USA, I hope you're enjoying the summer everyone, I'm already stressing about how soon it'll be gone.

I have many more photos of my altered book from the internet class I've been taking and a fat book I worked on for my daughter's high school years for her graduation. I'll post those soon too.

Bits & Bubbles & Tags

Wonderful surprise! Here's the items that Kathy of Four Dog Day, my Bits & Baubles Swap partner sent me. Thanks, Kathy! Love all my bits & baubles and can't wait to put them to use. A special thanks to Malissa of Sleepy Hollow Folk Originals who organized this great swap.
Love that bling!!
The rose photo is one she took. Isn't it beautiful? And the black and white "love" photo is so cool too. I forgot to ask her about that one. Very original, no?

Finally, something I created. I love the glitter on this butterfly stamp. This green tag is still a work in progress.
Here's one on cream color and napkin trim at bottom. This was my first use of napkins and they're great to use. Did you ever see a very beautiful napkin and felt it shouldn't be used for its purpose, but then again, what? Well, now paper crafters come to the rescue.
Well, thanks for looking everyone.
