Altered Bottles and Notebooks

Been busy creating more altered bottles and other things. I've done a couple of craft shows so I have some experience in that now and will try some others in the future.

Here's a Christmas bottle made with a tag I had from last year which I cut to decorate this bottle. The other has an air dry clay piece I stamped and painted.

This one has metal buttons and a piece of an old doily and the composition book below was covered in paper, ribbon and silk flower.

Are you more than ever more inspired to create since Pinterest came on the scene? I sure am. I wish I had more time to devote to my crafts. I'm still trying to learn to draw, sew more, and want to start making soldered jewelry too and my darn full time job is in the way, arghhh!

Enjoy the rest of the week and I hope you find the time to create,

Well, after a very minor earthquake and some minor floods from hurricane Irene, things around Pennsylvania have calmed down. It was quite a week. We rarely see such events in this state, especially the quake. My thoughts are with those less fortunate states and the people who have been hit with real tragedies due to these events.

This is a small collage on plywood pieces I got from Dollar Tree; it was a pack of 12 or 15 for $1. In the background there's stamping, paper and also crepe paper which I also stamped.

This tag was made using images sent to me by

Inka from Altered Artifacts for examples to use in her Etsy site.

This is also with an image from Inka, the backgroupd Lilas one.  The canvas is a recycled CD.

I love Old Hollywood stars, so this is one of many others I have to put together in a book.

Thanks for visiting and stay safe out there.

Sisterhood Project and, An Item Review from CSN Coming Soon!

I'm so late with this.  But I am participating in Karen's Blogerette Sorority challenge.  Here's my creation using her wonderful "sisterhood" vintage photo.  I can't wait to visit all my sisters' blogs now.  Please do the same for some awesome eye candy and inspiration.
I used the vintage photo on an altered tile used to clip a note, a small photo, etc.

Another requirement is to show your creation with yourself in the picture.  Yikes!

Go here to see the other great creations.

CSN.com contacted me again to be one of their Preferred Bloggers.  So look for a product review soon. I don't yet have the item since its taking me a while to select one.  So more coming on this.

Altered Rolodex

Here's the finished Rolodex I worked on to give to someone retiring at work. The cards were done by several employees in our department. I later put it all together. The single cards photographed here are my own design. A cool touch for wrapping, use old sewing patterns instead of tissue. That's what I used in the bag that had the gift. Something I know this person appreciates as she's a sewer and an advocate for the green movement.

Addicted to Eye Candy

Its almost paralyzing! I'm not creating as much as I am viewing other artist's work on the web. Thanks God for the internet, right? So much there to see, learn, be inspired by. Well, here's something I made a bit ago. Its a board book that I altered with all about my favorites in decorating my house, such as colors, styles, decorating ideas, fabrics, etc. I only have the front cover right now. Will post the rest soon.

Since Halloween is right around the corner, here's a couple of cool projects I saw published on Country Home Magazine's Oct. issue. Aren't they neat! Love that repurposing of the license plates.

For the Love of Paper

As many scrapbookers, I've been addicted for over 12 years now. Love scrapbooking and have done many albums over the years. Currently, I've been trying altered art and I'm really enjoying learning so much about it through other blogs and many sites as well as books about the subject.

Getting much inspiration and ideas from the many experts is one of my favorite pastimes. It's eye candy!! This blog is my attempt to give some back, so I'll be adding photos of things I work on and hope to be inspiration and help others.
