Mother's Voice
Marilyn Tullys

In my heart are messages
which often I replay,
Treasured guidance wisely stored
to guide me on life's way.
Words which parted wrong from right
stay with me from my youth,
Words which taught a preference
for kindness and for truth,

Counsel and encouragement
for purpose that's fulfilled,
Soft echoes of phrases meant
to undergird and build.

In my heart are messages
which urge for Godly choice.
Within the caring lines inside,
I hear my mother's voice.

Happy Mother's Day to all moms of the world.

Vintage Fun

Wanted to share this altered tin I recently created with a tin I got at the Target $1 spot. I got 3 at the time and now I wish I got more. Didn't it turn out pretty adorable.

I used one of my vintage b/w photos from my precious collection. Inside is a pair of gloves I found at an antique shop, but I'm not sure how old it really is but, I loved the buttons.

I left the back just with the pink paint.

If you haven't tried freecycle.org for gathering your art items, you should really give it a try. There are local groups so you drive as much or as little as you want and you can also list your items that you need to discard but someone else might have use for it. Its an awesome resource for all sorts of items and all free and it keeps it from landfills so you'll be part of the green movement that is becoming so popular. I've gotten vintage fabrics, paints, foam brushes, chip board, oil pastels, board games, books, bottles, vintage purses and probably more than I can't remember right now.
