Well, after a very minor earthquake and some minor floods from hurricane Irene, things around Pennsylvania have calmed down. It was quite a week. We rarely see such events in this state, especially the quake. My thoughts are with those less fortunate states and the people who have been hit with real tragedies due to these events.

This is a small collage on plywood pieces I got from Dollar Tree; it was a pack of 12 or 15 for $1. In the background there's stamping, paper and also crepe paper which I also stamped.

This tag was made using images sent to me by

Inka from Altered Artifacts for examples to use in her Etsy site.

This is also with an image from Inka, the backgroupd Lilas one.  The canvas is a recycled CD.

I love Old Hollywood stars, so this is one of many others I have to put together in a book.

Thanks for visiting and stay safe out there.

Pink, Flowers, Weddings, New Work & Free Images

There's just something about beautiful pink flowers!

The cards below are for a wedding save the date card.  I'm working on my niece's wedding stationery and this was a one of the samples. Isn't that image adorable?  I got it from Altered Pages.  Jackie has an awesome selection of beautiful images and many altered art supplies at her shop, Altered Pages.  I'm using some of her images to feature here on my blog in the next few months.  So stay tuned.

Here's another version with the same image

If you're in the mood for pink, flowers and weddings, or not, check this awesome, and so easy tutorial from

I finally made one of these cool pedestal dishes.  I saw some beautiful ones on blogs that got me inspired.

So these 3 bowls and candle holders from Goodwill and a little E-6000 glue and DONE!  So easy and wonderful use of things we love and can be practical too.

I'll leave you with some free images. Remember you can click to enlarge.

I wish you a happy and creative weekend!

New Work and a Spring Giveaway

Here are some mini composition books where I altered the covers.  Below those is a another notebook and altered compact discs wall hangings.

This altered CD has a bottle cap which I had never used before.  The background has a glue crackle technique as shown here. I'm happy with how it turned out.

Close up of top CD

This altered CD started with a fabric pattern glued down in a haphazard way, therefore the crunched look.  Love the look.

Girls and Dresses

I'm still struggling with computer trouble so I can't post my latest creations. These are older projects I worked on. I'm almost finished my altered book from the online class and will post that as soon as I am able to.
This cute little dress is a paper form I got at Michael's. I covered in paper first, then adhered ric- rac, fabric, buttons, velvet ribbon and fabric rose. This sweet girl wall hanging, was adhered on a backing from an old frame that came apart. Very sturdy substrate and the back is covered in a velvety black fabric. The striped background is a piece of wallpaper, then a decoupage tissue square and book page circle. Of course, some lace and bows. It hangs on a piece of lace as well. Don't you love that old key! I got that at an antique shop this past winter as part of a set of 3. I'm thinking of offering this piece for sale.

Vintage Fun

Wanted to share this altered tin I recently created with a tin I got at the Target $1 spot. I got 3 at the time and now I wish I got more. Didn't it turn out pretty adorable.

I used one of my vintage b/w photos from my precious collection. Inside is a pair of gloves I found at an antique shop, but I'm not sure how old it really is but, I loved the buttons.

I left the back just with the pink paint.

If you haven't tried freecycle.org for gathering your art items, you should really give it a try. There are local groups so you drive as much or as little as you want and you can also list your items that you need to discard but someone else might have use for it. Its an awesome resource for all sorts of items and all free and it keeps it from landfills so you'll be part of the green movement that is becoming so popular. I've gotten vintage fabrics, paints, foam brushes, chip board, oil pastels, board games, books, bottles, vintage purses and probably more than I can't remember right now.

Dia De Los Muertos and Show &Tell Sunday

Hi all -- I'm late on posting my Dia De Los Muertos entry due to technical problems with my PC. But here's an altered frame honoring both my Mom and Dad. A candle lit inside this triangular frame will finish it with a nice glow. Hope you like it. Below is my Show and Tell Sunday entry. I'm new at this and hope you forgive the double entry and lateness.

Thanks for visiting.

My love for paper and vintage has been evolving into this collection, although a very young collection. I can't seem to get enough of it, especially the most precious vintage children's photos.

Click to see these postcards to see the close up and check out the really funny ones.
